What is the minimum number of rooms that the Hotel has to release to the program each month?
There is no minimum allocation required. 2, 4, 6 or more rooms can be released at any given time. Hotels will have the ability to limit the allocation through the TDS booking engine (Genares).
- What is the minimum number of room nights per booking?
Hotels are required to release 2 room nights per booking.
- Is the Hotel obliged to provide additional complimentary services other than the room itself?
No. Bookings are made on a room only basis.
- What type of room must the Hotel provide for each Family?
Room type is purely at the discretion of the Hotel, as are any upgrade offers.
- How can the Hotel be assured that bona fide Travel Agents will fill the complimentary rooms?
TDA require all Travel Agents to complete a registration form including their IATA/TIDS details. TDA will conduct an audit of all membership registrations to ensure the bona fide credentials of the Travel Agent. Travel Agents must produce ID upon check-in at the Hotel. The Hotel may charge full room rates in the absence of appropriate ID.
- How long must the Travel Agent spend with the Director of Sales or a sales team representative?
1 hour minimum.
- What if the Travel Agent wants a longer stay at the Hotel?
The Hotel directly negotiates the applicable room rate beyond the 2 night complimentary stay.
- What if the Hotel wants to decline a booking?
Hotels are unable to differentiate between Travel Agents in order to maintain the integrity of the program and avoid conflict.
- We do not want to pay GDS processing fees
Bookings can be made via e-mail to a dedicated point of contact.
- 10. Does TDA charge the Travel Agent a booking fee?
Yes, TDA charge a management fee to cover the cost or establishing and maintaining a call centre, sales and marketing activities, infrastructure and payment gateway booking charges.
The fees charged are US$ 39.95 for 3 Star Hotels, US$ 54.95 for 4 Star Hotels and US$ 69.95 for 5 Star Hotels. The purpose of the tiered fee structure is to cover TDA costs as outlined above and create an equitable spread of room allocations across the range of Hotels.
- How many Travel Agents are enrolled in the Privilege Club?
The program is due to launch in September, so at this time total membership and demographics are not available. As members are enrolled, this information can be shared with Hotels.
- Does the Hotel have the ability to vet Hotel reviews by the Travel Agent?
Yes, featured Hotel articles published in the TDA Daily Newsletter will be sent to the Hotel for approval and will also be vetted by the TDA team.
Hotel reviews on the TDA website will be moderated by TDA staff but not vetted by Hotels as it would create an unnecessary burden for all parties.
- Where are the Hotel reviews hosted?
Reviews will be posted on the TDA website with special features published in the TDA daily newsletter.
- Does the Hotel have accessed to discounted advertisements with TDA
Yes, special discounts will apply to Partner Hotels.
- Can the Hotel offer a special promotion (ie free Breakfast, Internet etc)
Yes. The Hotel can contact TDA with details of the special promotion for publication in the daily newsletter.
