3/1/2010 4:30:00 PM

(Hong Kong – 1 March 2010) – Instead of wasting time while waiting for their next flight, passengers in transit at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport now have the option of touring some of the city’s most fabulous attractions with the introduction of the Showcase KL tour.

For just RM95 (HKD211) per person, passengers who have a minimum transit time of five hours to spare can take in some of the sights of Kuala Lumpur on the KL Hop-On Hop-Off (KL HOHO) bus. The tour allows participants to experience up to 43 attractions in the city. Depending on the individual’s available time, KL HOHO staff will be able to provide Showcase KL tour passengers appropriate advice to ensure that they have plenty of time to enjoy the tour and catch their connecting flight.

Showcase KL tour entitles passengers to special discounts on entrance fees and shopping including Aquaria KLCC, the KL Bird Park and Kuala Lumpur Tower. In addition, they will receive a welcome drink and a Tourist Reward card that offers discounts at over 150 participating stores at the Pavilion Kuala Lumpur upon the presentation of the Showcase KL badge.

Madam Zaliha Zainuddin, Director of Malaysia Tourism Promotion Board (Hong Kong Office) said, “Our transit passengers can now enjoy greater freedom and convenience and make use of their waiting time with our Showcase KL package. Tourists from Hong Kong and Macau can now get the most out of Kuala Lumpur in transit, sampling the gourmet Malaysian food and taking in some last minute shopping before boarding their connecting flight”.

Once a ticket is purchased, passengers need take only 10 easy steps clearly outlined in the programme brochure to experience the innovative tour. Two immigration counters have been dedicated to quickly process the passengers’ visas for the transit tour and each will be given a special badge which clearly identifies them as a tour participant.

After clearing immigration and customs, passengers can board the KLIA Ekspres high-speed train that will take them directly to KL Sentral Station. KLIA Ekspres staff will be on hand to assist tour passengers displaying the Showcase KL badges. Once at the KL Sentral station, passengers may proceed directly to the KL HOHO stop no.11 located on level 2 or those needing assistance can visit the KL counter.
