Have yourself an unforgettable holiday in Kuala Lumpur

When considering where to go on holiday, we often think of typical destinations and tourist attractions to tick off our ‘to see’ lists. Whether we want to stand inside the Roman Colosseum or climb to the top of Acropolis, it’s normal to limit your options to rather conventional choices. Now, however, with great deals on Kuala Lumpur hotels, it’s time to explore the many attractions that this Malaysian city has to offer!

While you may not have considered this destination before, there is a lot going on in this growing and vibrant city. At present, it is home to some 1.6 million people and is the fastest growing metropolitan area in its region - both in terms of economy and population. This new-found wealth has brought a great number of luxurious hotel properties to the city, such as the Berjaya Times Square Hotel Kuala Lumpur. This hotel is also host to the largest shopping centre in the country, and even has its very own theme park inside.

Upon your arrival in Kuala Lumpur, you will soon find that there is a whole new world waiting for you to explore. As soon as you manage to step outside of the comforts of your accommodation, there are many sights and attractions to take in.

A good place to start your sightseeing is at the open-aired Independence Square, known locally as the Dataran Merdeka. From here, be sure to carry on to such national landmarks as the Istana Negara (National Palace), the House of Parliament, the Kuala Lumpur Tower, the Putra World Trade Centre and the Muzium Negara (National Museum).

Other places of interest include the Aquaria KLCC, the Makam Pahlawan (National Mausoleum), the city’s Chinatown district on Petaling Street, the Zoo Negara (National Zoo), the National Science Centre and the Batu Caves. There is also the Golden Triangle, which is known as the commercial hub of the city and home of the world-renowned Petronas Twin Towers.

If you’re looking for a place to relax between exploring the city, you may want to check out the Perdana Lake Gardens. These are located near to the Parliament buildings and contain a butterfly park, a deer park, an orchid garden, an hibiscus garden and south-east Asia’s largest bird park. For more peace, it’s also interesting to visit some of the city’s Mosque temples. These include the Masjid Negara (National Mosque), the Masjid Jamek and the Federal Territory Mosque.

Once you’ve finished a long day on foot, be sure to stay out until the sky turns dark so you can revel in the beauty of this city’s impressive nocturnal skyline. At this point, you might also want to experience Kuala Lumpur’s active night life; with a variety of trendy bars and lounges such as the Beach Club, Espanda, The Luna Bar, Zouk and many more, you’ll always have somewhere to go, no matter what the time of day.

For those interested in a little retail therapy, Kuala Lumpur boasts a wide variety of shopping centres, with 66 shopping malls. Always remember to consider this when packing, as with so many opportunities to make purchases, you’re sure to need space for taking plenty of things back with you!

Kuala Lumpur is a city that relies heavily on driving, and so is connected through a number of major highway road networks. For this reason, you might want to rent a vehicle when you arrive. If you’re not comfortable taking to these new roads on your own, however, the city offers a comprehensive public transport system which includes trains, buses and taxis.

There’s clearly a lot worth seeing in Kuala Lumpur, so you’ll probably want to spend quite a while there. This way, you can relax and enjoy all that this majestic place has to offer. Best of all, doing this doesn’t have to break the bank - many cheap Kuala Lumpur hotels are ready to cater to whatever budget you have available.

There are many websites that let you sort through all the hotels in Kuala Lumpur until you find the one that’s perfect one for you. There are a great number of options available to choose from - all of which will offer you a unique and unforgettable experience abroad.

Whether you’re looking for a family holiday, a romantic getaway or a holiday with your mates, you’ll find that this city is the perfect destination. With so many exciting things to do - many of which aren’t available in normal Eurozone destinations - Kuala Lumpur is a great place to consider for your next break. The only problem, of course, is that once you arrive, you really won’t want to leave!

So, go and get on it! Gather everyone together, find out when is a good time to get away and book yourself into an excellent time abroad. This magical city is waiting for you.
