Australian Adventure

Australia is one of the world’s adventure capitals and the true Aussie spirit thrives in the great outdoors. Australia’s diverse natural landscapes host a whole array of extreme sports and action packed activities so whether you’re scaling the Sydney Harbour Bridge, diving with sharks in the Great Barrier Reef or trekking through the outback to reach Ayers Rock on one of many Uluru Tours, your adrenaline will be pumping.

Ayers Rock sits right the heart of the northern territory in the kata tjuta national park and is a sacred landmark in aboriginal culture. The striking bright orange sandstone is famous for its colour changing hues at sunset and sunrise and adventurous travellers will be pleased to note that Uluru can be climbed at any time of the day. There are a range of Uluru Tours which take you right into the outback for an authentic Australian experience, including adrenaline pumping 4wd tours and compelling aboriginal culture tours. You can either fly into Alice Springs or journey through the desolate outback on a Crocodile Dundee inspired journey, past boggy creeks, crocodile infested lakes and kangaroos!

For a more extreme climbing adventure head to Sydney and climb, yes climb, the Sydney Harbour Bridge! If you’re not satisfied with just walking across the bridge or standard city walking tours, daily climbing tours take you to dizzying heights of 143m, right to the top of the middle arch. Climbing stairs, the internal arches and walkways, the Sydney Bridge Climb is a unique and adventurous sightseeing tour which offers unrivalled panoramic views across Sydney Harbour and Circular Quay. From the peak of the arch you have amazing views of the Sydney Opera House and the lush landscapes of the Royal botanic gardens.

For something completely different don a wetsuit, tank and flippers and dive into the depths of the Pacific Ocean and witness the colourful underwater world of the Great Barrier Reef. This complex eco-system is one of the finest natural wonders in the world and is the only structure made by living organisms that is visible from space. Great Barrier Reef diving is a not to be missed opportunity. The rich collection of colourful corals are spectacular in their vibrancy and diversity and make the Great Barrier Reef a premier scuba diving and snorkelling location. Large lettuce corals, anemone, and colourful fans share the underwater world with dolphin, fish, sea turtles, sting-rays and reef sharks. The tropical abundance has to be seen to be believed and the pristine, clear waters ensure that whether you are snorkelling above the water, or scuba diving below it, you will not miss out on this underwater paradise. The Whitsunday’s and Green Island, to name but a few of the tropical islands which line the Great Barrier Reef are pristine. Embodying everyone’s picture perfect ideal of a tropical island, the lush beaches on these islands are world renowned for their unrivalled beauty.

Adventure is not hard to find down under and if you seek you shall most definitely find! From the centre of the arid outback, through the city to the ocean beyond, there is an adventure to suit anyone and everyone!
